We have now completed and handed over the new playground constructed for Peterborough School. The new playground was provided in the location of an existing car park and was surrounded by acoustic fencing to reduce noise for neighbours.
The playground installation follows work carried out last year at the school to refurbish the gymnasium, including replacing all the windows, together with a new roof covering, new fascias, soffits and cladding system, as well as the provision of a new soft play area. The completed building with soft play area in front is shown in the photo below.
Burmor Construction are delighted to announce that we have been awarded a framework contract with Peterborough City Council to deliver construction projects across all areas of the council’s building programme, from schools to civic, arts and cultural buildings, over the next 4 years.
The framework was launched earlier this year, and in April we took part in an event at the Chamber of Commerce Peterborough Construction Network to encourage the local supply chain to get involved with ourselves and other contractors on the framework in delivering the council’s construction projects. A photo from the event appears below.
We very much look forward to partnering with Peterborough City Council throughout this framework contract and beyond.
Our project to construct a three storey block of ten flats in Peterborough has reached 1st floor stage, with the precast concrete planks and stairs being successfully craned into position this week.
The photos below show the completed floor plank installation, with a detail shot of the stairs below.
Our project to provide a major extension to a large dwelling in Stamford is nearing completion. The photos below show the new building now that the scaffold has been struck.
The photo above shows the end elevation of the new extension. The walls are built in Stamford Stone with aluminium windows and external doors and zinc cladding to the high levels, with a single ply flat roof covering. The stonework was all carried out by our directly employed stonemasons.
The above photo shows the side of the new extension as well as a portion of the existing house, highlighting the contrast between the modern design of the extension and the traditional style of the existing house. The scheme was designed by RAW Architecture of Bainton near Stamford.
