First phase of private housing development in Downham Market nearing completion

The first phase of our housing development in Downham Market is nearing completion. The project comprises the construction of 14 dwellings for GCB Developments. The site will be handed over in two phases, with phase 1 due for completion in early December, and phase 2 following in early 2019.

Demolition of old office allows development to progress

Since moving to our new head office this has allowed development to progress on our old office site in Deeping St James.

Shortly after moving offices our old office was demolished, including breaking out the underground inspection pits of the old Deeping St James bus depot which once stood there. Groundworks have begun to build a new 4 bed detached dwelling in its place, which will be the 4th and final plot of the development.

Burmor Construction moves into new head office

Burmor are pleased to announce that after steady growth within the company we have moved into our new head office in Market Deeping, Peterborough.

After plenty of anticipation and excitement the new office was up and running in October 2018. The office was designed and built by Burmor and was built using a structural steel frame and cladding to the walls and roof. Internally there is 2 large open planned offices, reception area, meeting room and 2 private offices. The building also includes a rear workshop and an external concrete yard for storage.

Adjacent to the new office is a parcel of land which Burmor will be developing and building 8 light industrial units on. Please contact our office for more information about these units.

Contract awarded to build a Passive House in Peterborough

We have started on our new site in Peterborough which involves taking possession of a Passive House timber frame and completing the timber roof structure and installing the metal cladding roof coverings,  forming the external facade with Siberian larch timber cladding and Velfac windows and doors, carrying out a complete internal fit out including the installation of the services and landscaping and drainage for the site.

Burmor have been in close contact with the Passive House contractor to ensure the air tightness of the building is protected at all times, delivering an efficient home for the client as an end result.

Below shows a photo of the external building upon possession of the site and the Architect’s proposed elevations for the building.

The project is due to be complete by March 2019.

Superstructure is progressing in Hampton

The superstructure on our project to design and build 8 flats above a ground floor retail unit is progressing well. The structural steel frame is now complete and the ground, first and second floors have been formed using over 200 sheets of steel mesh reinforcement and close to 175 m3 of concrete. The masonry external walls are shooting up on the ground floor, with the photos below also showing the metal SFS framework for the internal skin of the upper floors.

The project is still on course to complete in Summer 2019.
