We are approaching the end of our contract to design and build a new commercial unit in St Ives for a private client. This project was heavily affected by the coronavirus pandemic however we have successfully managed to maintain a good continuity of works to ensure that the impact of covid-19 has been mitigated as much as possible.
All second fix works are now complete following the successful installation of the platform lift which will provide disabled access to the first floor office. The decoration works are nearing completion and the floor covering installations have began with the vinyl coverings to the kitchens and toilets on going.
Externally all hard landscaping is complete and includes 6 new car parking bays to service the units, a motorcycle parking area, paved footpaths to connect the new units to the existing walkway and a bin store area for the proposed ground floor food outlet. 1.8m high close board fencing has also been installed to the bin store areas to ensure the waste is not visible from the near by main road and will help to keep the external elements looking clean and tidy.
The ground floor unit was handed over to the occupiers on 12th October and their internal fit out works are progressing well and will hopefully be completed at the same time as our works.
The project is scheduled to hand over on Friday 30th October.
