Superstructures fly up on site of 27 Dwellings

Published on Wednesday 25 November 2020

Its been 8 weeks since the first timber frame plots were delivered to site and in that short time we have been able to fully erect 14 plots from ground floor level to roof level, including the installation of all fascia and eaves details ready for the roof coverings to be installed.

Once roof coverings are installed the windows and doors are fitted to make the building fully watertight. This then allows internal trades to start work in the plots safely with no risk of damage from weather. One big advantage when using timber frame is being able to work inside the plots whilst the masonry external skin is being constructed. This can be seen on plots 1-3 which are currently having their scaffolding struck just 7 weeks after it was erected and the plots are already being plastered ready for decoration and second fix trades.

The timber frame to the remaining 13 plots is starting next week and we aim to have all the timber frame plots up and water tight by February 2021.

24 New Dwellings at Waltham On The Wolds

Groundworks are motoring away in Waltham on the Wolds on our project to design and deliver these 24 units for Platform Housing. The majority of the road and drainage have been installed and base coursed with the plots being simultaneously excavated and concreted as depicted here perfectly on plots 18 and 19. Following on from this will be the installation of the thermal block and beam flooring systems ready for superstructures to start. These dwellings have been sympathetically designed to suit the existing arrangement on the High Street. Matching in the details will provide an array of stone built dwellings with the use of blue brick cills and quoins elsewhere.

Works are progressing well on our site in Wicken. Plots 1-6 are awaiting the windows to be fitted whilst plots 11, 12, 15 and 16 are being plastered. Plots 13 and 14 are the most advanced as the walls have been mist coated, the kitchens have been installed and the skirting, architrave and internal doors are all fitted. The second fix mechanical and electrical is on going to these plots with a view to be completed within the next couple of weeks. Externally our ground workers are finalising the on site drainage and preparing to start the hard landscaping works to the rear of the advanced plots. Off site the management team are working tirelessly to get the sectional agreements in place so we can begin the off site works to the highways to the adjacent road
