Burmor take part in charity football tournament

Published on Monday 23 April 2018

On a warm Friday evening representatives from Burmor Construction (and associated companies) took part in a charity football tournament at the Abax Stadium, home of Peterborough United FC. The Mick George cup was held to raise money for the British Heart Foundation, and consisted of 16 teams taking part in a group stage followed by finals to determine the overall winner.

The Burmor team, pictured below, wore black armbands to commemorate the recent passing of our Contracts Manager, Chris Dowd, whose funeral was scheduled to take place only four days after the tournament, and who will be sadly missed. Chris had suffered a series of heart attacks in 2017 and was treated at the Royal Papworth Hospital in Cambridgeshire. The Mick George cup raised over £4,000 for the British Heart Foundation.
