Gymnasium refurbishment, new playground and new soft play area at Peterborough School

This project was carried out in two phases. The first phase involved the refurbishment of the existing gymnasium building including replacing all the existing windows with new upvc windows, replacing the roof, and fitting new fascias, soffits and cladding system, as well as new aluminium external doors. This phase also included installing a new soft play area, constructed with a ‘no dig’ system around some preserved trees. The picture above shows the completed first phase, with the gymnasium building in the background and the new soft play area in front. The project was carried out whilst the school was in occupation, with careful management of construction works so as not to impact on school activities and to maintain the health and safety of all.

The second phase of the project involved the installation of a new playground on an existing car park. The playground was surrounded by new acoustic fencing to reduce noise for neighbours. Again this project was carried out whilst the school was in full operation. The photos below show the completed playground.
