‘Make it visible’ Tour reaches Isle Road and Gaul Road.
Two weeks ago, our two sites, Isle Road and Gaul Road, were selected and visited by the ‘Make it Visible’ Tour through Lighthouse - The Construction Charity.
The #MakeItVisible team are reaching out to the frontline trades to let them know about the free crucial support services that Lighthouse can provide. They’re visiting construction companies, builder’s merchants, hire centres and sites across the UK and Ireland to help spread the message of support. Unprecedented demand and the size of their waiting list, has meant they are not currently taking requests for the tours for the rest of 2025, which is why we feel so lucky that 2 of our sites were chosen.
The tour team are all ‘on the tools’ and their down to earth approach was very well received across the two sites. Rob Muldoon and Dale Stillwell were able to share their first hand life experiences in a casual and relatable manner capturing the attention of those trades on site. Their emphasis was very much on having an informal friendly chat over a cuppa during a stand-down toolbox talk and to let the workers know about all of the support they have available to them and their families; with focus on the importance of positive mental health and wellbeing which is invaluable.
Outside of the sessions, there was a ‘safe space’ around the #MakeItVisible tour van providing a chance for the workers to engage with the representatives on a one-to-one basis and ask any questions they had. Not only that, they were able to offer out some great freebies including cards, travel mugs and snoods.
The tour has already visited 901 sites across the UK with over 50,000 people engaged!
Burmor are proud to have been able to facilitate these two visits and will have further support from Lighthouse as they will have representation at our annual football tournament in May as part of our ongoing mission to reduce the stigma around mental health in this sector.
