Community Spirit

The Burmor and Flagship teams are investing efforts into integrating themselves positively into the local community while constructing 40 new homes on Chalk Lane in Narborough. It is crucial that we go above and beyond in building with consideration and supporting the local community during our time as a neighbour in the village.

We had the pleasure of meeting with the Narborough Community Centre team, which is directly opposite the construction site. We spent time getting to know the team that organises all the positive local activities and fundraising initiatives. Each year, the community centre hosts a large fair for families, friends, and visitors of Narborough, raising money to provide more resources for the centre. One of their primary sources of income is a charity raffle, where prizes are auctioned off to raise funds. This year, Burmor and Flagship were delighted to participate in the donation process.

The Burmor and Flagship project team met with the Chair of the Narborough Parish Council, David Williams, in the run-up to the event and personally gifted the raffle prizes to him. They engaged in a roundtable discussion about the project and its significance to the residents. David said of the meeting,

'It was a pleasure today discussing the development in a very positive way. As Chair of both the Parish Council and the Community Centre, I thank Sam, Matt, and Oleg for their time and for keeping us updated on the development's progress. Being informed dispels myths that can arise and allows residents to continue their normal activities in the village. This is evident in the complete absence of communications related to the site.'

As our relationship with the community continues to grow, we are keeping an open communication channel and Burmor and Flagship were thrilled to learn that their contribution, along with contributions from other Narborough businesses, raised over £500 for the development of the centre. A huge congratulations to everyone for their hard work and efforts in making the day such a success.
