Assistant Quantity Surveyor shortlisted for award!

Each year, the Peterborough Telegraph holds Apprenticeship Awards to celebrate the great work and achievements of local employers and employees. We are thrilled, and proud, to announce that our own Assistant Quantity Surveyor, Ciara Ruane-Fountain, has been nominated and shortlisted for the Construction Apprentice of the Year Award - huge well done!

Ciara has worked hard to maintain a strong work and study balance, but has also integrated herself into other extra-curricular activities. Earlier this year, she co-hosted a booth at the Women of the World festival in London, standing side by side with the current President of the CIOB. Their shared aim was to inspire more women to join the industry. She now heads Tomorrow’s Leaders in the Cambridge Region, a community of dedicated professionals who are trailblazers for the next generation of talent.

Ciara's enthusiasm extends well beyond her project responsibilities, as she stands as a compassionate team member at Burmor and supports its endeavors. Her passion for our charitable initiatives shine, and she played a pivotal role in organising the charity football tournament and raffle. Together, we successfully raised over £3000 for our designated charitable causes.

Her mentor, Ollie Crofts, said of her progress; ‘since Ciara has joined, she shows an ability to pick things up naturally. She is very hardworking and her aptitude to work is observed daily. Ciara is ahead of her expected results, and Burmor are very pleased that she is further forward than anticipated’.

Burmor take great pride in witnessing her integration into a team where her talents find purpose and she is flourishing, and we look forward to seeing what comes next for her as she embarks on a series of new projects.

‘Being nominated for the award was truly unexpected, and to now find myself as a finalist is an immense accomplishment. The feeling of being recognized in this manner is incredibly overwhelming.’ - Ciara
