Affordable Housing: 94 Dwellings, Low Road, Fenstanton

Client: settle group

We're delighted to be appointed to deliver this challenging scheme of 94 units for new client settle group.

Situated in a prominent area of St Ives adjacent to the river, this development will bring a total of 94 affordable rent and shared ownership homes; a key driver for local Huntingdonshire District Council to improve the housing situation in the area. The 64 flats will be built using LoCaL Homes Eco-150 panels and the remaining 30 houses will be built using their Eco-100 system.

Having been involved in the site through the planning stages, Burmor were well versed in the technical challenges of this site relating to delivery and flood risk. The site is situated in a prominent area of St Ives adjacent to the river and has been designed sympathetically to the area. With a boardwalk circulating the edge of the development, the design has taken careful consideration for wellbeing, providing a scenic space to walk and cycle on the residents doorstep.

The groundworks team started on site at the beginning of the year, piling is complete, and the steel frame design is now being erected. The project is due for completion in Q4 2025.

The Senior Quantity Surveyor leading this project is Ollie Crofts and the Site Manager is Kevin Hughes.
