Affordable Housing: 75 Dwellings, Trelowen Way

The new homes are built with prefabricated, low carbon timber frames from LoCal Homes, a leading offsite manufacturer based in Birmingham.

The ‘Eco100’ series uses a traditional timber frame open panel system to increase thermal performance with lower u-values over traditional construction. PV panels on each roof will reduce energy costs for our clients customers and help to tackle fuel poverty.

Each development has been future proofed with electricity points in the carpark areas should users need to install a charging point for their vehicles going forward.

The Burmor team delivering this project are Senior Quantity Surveyor, Ollie Crofts, Assistant Quantity Surveyor, Ciara Ruane-Fountain, and Site Manager, Andrew Hubbert.

Our 75 new homes on Trelowen Way, Peterborough, is one of the biggest developments that Burmor has taken on in our 40 year history.

The homes are being developed for our client Accent Group, who are working with Peterborough City Council and with part funding from Homes England.

This flagship development of new homes for affordable rent, range from 1-bed maisonettes to 4-bed houses. Two of the bungalows meet Part M4(3) of current Building Regulations and 21 meet Part M4(2) to provide ‘accessible and adaptable dwellings.’ The remaining 52 homes are delivered to the Part M4(1) standard. Each home is designed to be highly energy efficient using a ‘fabric first’ approach, resulting in each home achieving an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of ‘A’.
